Save the date: LEARN NC’s 2010 Interactive Conference Oct. 14
Posted September 1, 2010 · by Bill Ferris · in Bulletin board
Thursday, October 14 LEARN NC will conduct our 2010 Interactive Conference in Chapel Hill at the Center for School Leadership Development. As we did last year, you can attend the conference in person or online. If you choose to participate in person, you will experience two hands-on workshops in the morning before the afternoon virtual sessions begin.
Look for an agenda and registration information in the coming days. This year’s conference will feature several sessions, including topics like digital content in the classroom, differentiated instruction, technology integration, and exploring online professional development courses.
In addition, we will offer two face-to-face workshops the morning of the conference, descriptions of which appear below. These hands-on workshops will be offered only to in-person attendees. Seats for face-to-face attendance is limited, so please be sure to keep checking LEARN NC for registration updates. We hope to see you in Chapel Hill (or online) on October 14.
Morning workshops
- Blended learning: How is teaching and learning different in blended environments?
- Not simply a new brand of coffee, this perspective on learning describes what happens when curriculum is seen through the lenses of technology integration, differentiated instruction, and student-centered learning. Participants in this hands-on session will explore a framework for blended learning and will leave with resources and strategies to more effectively create a student-centered environment.
- Free Classroom Technology with Instructify
- Bring your laptop and come play with the latest free online teaching tools. The folks behind LEARN NC’s Instructify blog will guide you show you the latest educational games, animation programs, and time savers, as well as cover how you can use them in class.
